Gale South Beach
During our spontaneous trip to Miami we decided to try a new hotel; Gale South Beach, Curio Collection by Hilton. Since we accidently booked our trip during spring break we knew that the location of the hotel would be key, to avoid all the springbreakers. We wanted to be close to the beach, but not too close to sout beach and it so happened that I had points enought for 1 nigh on my Hilton account, so Gale South Beach it was!
Located one block in from the beach and a couple of roads above the northern part of Ocean Drive, but walking distance to the shopping, I felt this would be the ideal hotel. It took us about 30 minutes from the airport with an uber to arrive at the hotel.
The entrance was a little tricky to find, since the lobby was located I level up behind the restaurant, but we were greeted by a very nice woman behind the counter. She was very helpful. We had one reservation through hilton honors (on points) and one booking through hotels.com for two nights and unfortunatley I had manage to book two different types of rooms. She helped us upgrade to the same kind of room so we wouldn’t have to move around, which was very helpul. We also got our own little balcony, which was a nice plus.
The room was spacious and light. The bed was very comofortable. The only minus was the bathroom, which had the shower somewhat located in the hallway with no door. (Watch the video below). It was fine for us since we are an open couple, but for people more reserved this might be something to inform guests about when checking in..
I really liked this hotel. The location was great, the staff was helpful and the rooms were nice. They also offer additional 20 % discount in the inhouse restaurant which has an awesome truffle pizza, and in the cocktailbar. I would definitely stay here next time I go to Miami.

Tips and tricks: They have bicycles for guests to use free of charge. Their cocktailbar is great!
